A fine bright mid ruby purple. Perfectly poised fruit on the nose, this is not massive but it has been beautifully put together, a very sensual raspberry fruit with cherry undertones, just enough acidity, fine tannins. There is one of the more floral-inflected wines in the range with its aromas of lavender, rose petal and lilac and violet that add elegance to the black pinot fruit, sandalwood and jasmine tea scents. There is a lovely sense of tension to the finely detailed and overtly stony middleweight flavors that possess a highly sophisticated texture, all wrapped in a superbly long, balanced and driving finish.
