No more than medium deep red crimson but the nose is beautiful, very expressive, all in a ripe enough red fruit. The 1er cru aspect shows in the concentrated red fruit behind. The perfumed essence of red currant, anise, sandalwood and a similar hint of exotic spiced tea gives way to round, supple and caressing medium-bodied flavors that are less mineral driven on the equally austere and beautifully long and balanced finale.
