The Premier Cru from the right river bank is situated just south-east of the Grand Crus and next to Montee de Tonnerre. The Race family has 1 hectare of well-sited 26yo vines, this mostly on red clay based soil. This cru is said to be "one of the most powerful 1er cru's of Chablis". by Jasper Morris.
2023 was a warm and dry vintage, producing wines that are beautifully aromatic and opulent. This is fine and elegant with good firmness and "cut". The flinty / chalky mineral character combine with depth and that firm structure to give ageing potential of up to 10 years.
