PRE ARRIVAL 2024 Domaine de l'Aste Santenay Rouge 750Ml Bottle

This villages wine comes from a few plots at the bottom of the slope between Santenay and Chassagne where the land slopes gently S-E. There is no better villages Santenay that we know of. As with all the wines, it’s 100% hand-picked and barrel aged. It will easily give many villages Cote de Nuits wines at twice or three times the price a run for their money!

This is from 3 plots all between the tiny Santenay village and the Chassagne border 1.6km to the north. 0.7 ha of the 0.9 ha total comes from a plot called Champs Claude which sits adjacent to 1er Cru Morgeot.  
As with all the wines, it’s 100% hand-picked, sorted well in the vineyard and barrel aged. It will easily give many villages Cote de Nuits wines at twice or three times the price a run for their money!
David and his team painstakingly select only loose bunches (guaranteed no mould between bunches that aren’t touching others in the same bunch) for the whole-bunch component which is usually 20%. 
He likes to start the ferment at a low 12C so it starts slowly, thus explaining the suave tannins that are certainly not light. But the nicely ripe and firm tannins carry well the lush, ripe fruit. Randall
