2023 Domaine Francois de Givry Auxey-Duresses Blanc 'Les Riames' Monopole

Francois de Givry purchased plots in the Cote de Beaune in 2009. A part of this land was a 0.9Ha plot that was abandoned in the 1930’s. It was replanted in 2010 and the 0.6Ha of vines is now run along Leflaive lines, with the wine made in the Domaine Leflaive cellar, just down the road, in Puligny.

This is the smallest Monopole in the Cote de Beaune and the last two vintages that I have tasted are sensational, as expected, not dissimilar to a Leflaive, with lovely ripeness but also some subtle reduction and beautiful mineral streak.

The site itself is at 380mt, and is south-east facing just below the small Mont Marsain.
