2023 Jülg Sonnenberg Riesling GG 750ml

This is more flinty (than the Springberg from the German vines) and has a slightly leaner but powerful profile. From a famed Jülg French vineyard called St. Paul within Grand Cru Sonnenberg. It has grey-red limestone and sandstone giving minerality and power. It also has flinty notes with struck match, more citrus and more is 'straight' as Johannes says. It tastes more 'rocky' with underlying saline mineral quality, but it’s most definitely not lean and mean; rather, generously elegant, crisp and long.
