2024 Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 750mL

'Initially somewhat reticent, the 2024 village Gevrey from
Faiveley opens on the palate, revealing black cherry fruit with
hints of earth and spice. It is a classic Gevrey, well done at
this level, with firm, slightly grippy tannins, moderate density
and a lingering finish. It is fully ripe, not astringent. This is a
large cuvée for Faiveley, blended from substantial holdings
throughout the village, and it has done well in a difficult year.
As of next year, Faiveley will be compelled to drop Vieilles
Vignes designation, since they do not produce a
‘regular’ cuvée.'
