The Monthelie is vibrating with energy on the palate, backed by good acidity, and adequate tannins behind. Structured, with slightly more energy than the Volnay. "The 2023 Monthélie Les Duresses 1er Cru contains 50% whole clusters. Wild strawberry and loamy scents unfurl on the nose, well-defined with a touch of allspice. The palate is more complex than the Volnay, the tannins slightly finer with a precise and saline finish.
